FATCA IGA List – March 01, 2015

A new list of Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) compliant countries has been published by the US government.

The number of compliant countries has increased from 101 to 112.

Most of the countries have Model 1 FATCA agreements, while 14 have Model 2 agreements.

The main difference between the two agreements is Model 1 agreements allow the IRS to swap reciprocal tax information with another country, while the Model 2 agreement does not.
