Expats Vote Spain The Best Place To Do Business

Spain is the best country in the world for expats in business, according to a new survey of company chiefs.

The Mediterranean nation tops a list of 68 countries voted by CEOWorld magazine as the best – and worst – for doing business.

Spain deposed last year’s winner Canada at the top, with the North American country slipping to seventh place.

The poll picked out Finland and Portugal as places where expats were impressed with quality of life and the ease of relocating families.

Nigeria props up the table again – having taken last place in 2018 and between 2013 and 2016.

Britain takes 24th place, up five places from 29th in 2018.

The survey asked 105,000 expats in business across 95 countries about their experiences overseas. Countries were scored and rated on six metrics –  career opportunities; earning potential; quality of life; ease of family relocation; ease of raising families and ease of settling in.

Expats were classed as employees of multinationals on assignment and independent workers living outside their home country.
