Britain has lost second-ranking in the US FATCA listings for the first time.
Brazil has taken over as the country with the second-most registrations under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).
The Cayman Islands remain top of the table with 80,818 registrations. An increase of 817 in the past month.
Brazil is second with 35,693 registrations, up 699 in a month, while the UK has 35,311, up 79 from last month.
According to the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), 398,395 financial institutions are registered under FATCA, rising 2,912 since August.
The top 10 countries account for 251,135 registrations, an increase of 2,250 in the month.
The nest FATCA list is due at the end of September.
