The number of Australia QROPS jumped by more than 20% in the past 14 days as the number of offshore pensions worldwide showed the biggest increase since August 2015.
Australia saw 45 QROPS open and is home to 206 schemes, up from 161 when the last official list was published by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) two weeks ago.
More QROPS have opened in the past two weeks than in the previous six weeks added together.
Six other centres also posted extra QROPS – four in the Isle of Man; two in Jersey and one each in Canada, France, Hong Kong, Malta and The Netherlands.
HMRC data shows 1,134 QROPS are available in 41 countries.
No country reported a reduced number of QROPS compared to the last list and no jurisdictions were added or removed from the list.
The Isle of Man (210 QROPS) and Australia (206) head the list with the most offshore pensions.
Both countries together account for 36% of the QROPS worldwide.
The data shows the QROPS in each country. Figures are not available for membership levels or the amount invested in each scheme.
HMRC plans to publish the next QROPS List on May 15, 2016.
