Donald Trump Wins Race To The White House

Donald J Trump may be a loud, rude and aggressive showman who so far has had said little of substance about his policies, but he and his team won the race to The White House in a historic and stunning upset.

Although just about everyone doubted Trump’s ability to win the 2016 US Presidential Election, he demonstrated an unshakeable self-belief to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

He overturned Democrat majorities from the 2012 poll in several key states – such as Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania to dump former first lady Hillary Clinton in a political wasteland from which she is never likely to emerge.

Property developer, hotel and casino operator and TV celebrity Trump just put his head down, ignored the professionals and rushed The White House to take his place as the 45th President of the United States.

Controversial campaign

After 18 months on the road, even his most ardent supporters don’t know what he stands for, what he intends to do now he has taken office or whether he has the skills to carry the job off.

Taking a place as a world statesman is a lot different from telling someone on his The Apprentice TV show that they are fired.

Few thought Trump would take on the Republican party nomination for the 2016 Presidential Election.

He was not expected to win anything – doubters talked down his chances of victory in a primary, the Republican nomination or the fight with Hillary Clinton.

Despite a campaign fraught with controversy over comments about Muslims, Mexicans, his treatment of women, election rigging and alleged corruption against Clinton, Trump came through the other side to become President-elect.

He will take office in January and serve as President for four years.
