Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme (QROPS) providers have kicked off the New Year on a high note by opening more than two dozen new pensions.
The latest list of QROPS published by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) shows the number offshore pensions worldwide increased by 27 to 943 since the last list was released on December 15.
The new schemes are in:
- Australia (14)
- Hong Kong (6)
- The Netherlands (2)
- France, Germany, Isle of Man, Jersey and Turkey (One each)
The Isle of Man remains the place offering the most QROPS, with 202, followed by Guernsey with 135 – just over a third of all the pensions available worldwide.
No other financial centre is in treble figures.
The next QROPS List is due for publication by HMRC on January 15, 2016
