New SEIS Investment Finder Ready For Action

A new cloud computing platform to help source Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) businesses looking for funding is due to launch soon.

It’s the brainchild of Brett de Bank, Oliver Morgan and Carl Edouard Pihl, who have started Capitama.

In addition, the capital markets platform will enable providers of Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS) to link up with investors.

The backers are launching their platform because they believe the number of investors looking for SEIS and EIS opportunities will mushroom this year.

Brett says: “By using technology that is cloud-based our aim is to help companies and individuals raise capital efficiently by connecting them and the investor.”

New business start up

The new platform is still being tested but is set to go live in September with the backers having an impressive track record of creating effective new businesses behind them.

Brett is a former Goldman Sachs analyst while Carl co-founded TicketingHub and Oliver is the lead web developer.

Capitama will not focus on one business sector, but will cover deals in various asset classes.

The founders also say that they will undertake due diligence to some degree on all investment projects being listed with each one being rated according to the information submitted.

There will also be an opportunity for investors to carry out an inquiry to find a listed company and its preference for investment and be able to contact them directly.

The platform is expected to charge £49 a month to new businesses to be listed and to provide analytical data about inquiries being made.

Diploma for EIS advisers

One of the major attractions for using Capitama is that financial advisers will be able to search for specific opportunities and engage directly with investment projects and build professional networks.

Meanwhile, advisors looking to improve their knowledge and skills in advising on SEIS and EIS will have the opportunity to gain a diploma in the subjects.

A new diploma is available for advisors wanting to exploit what could be a lucrative opportunity in advising on these investment schemes.

The diploma is being produced by the tax exam training outfit Tolley and by the EIS Association.

The exam is being sponsored by Kuber Ventures, an EIS platform.

With a pass rate set at 75%, the exam will test the advisor’s knowledge of EIS for tax and regulations, as well as investment, and will help improve the advisor’s understanding and build their confidence on the subject.

The exam is multiple-choice and can be accessed online at the EIS Association website as well as the Kuber Ventures and Tolley websites.
